What we collect when you use Sitecraft, why we need it, who helps us handle it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Sitecraft is run by SSDev Ltd (company 08303792), 16 Hudson Street, Bicester OX26 2ER. We decide how your information is used. Questions or requests: support@sitecraft.studio.
What we collect
- When you ask for a free draft or join the waitlist: your name, email address, business name and the details you give us about your business (description, services, phone, address, website and social links, and any logo or photos you upload).
- If you take part in the optional interview about your business: what you tell our AI assistant, including a recording or transcript.
- Public information about your business: what's on your current website and, where available, your Google Business Profile — so your draft reflects your real business.
- When you choose a plan: your plan and billing records. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- When you use your account: the changes and requests you make to your site.
- Technical records: like any website, our hosting keeps short-lived logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the service secure and working.
Why we use it
- To build your draft and run your site — this is what you've asked us to do (our contract with you).
- To email you about your draft, your site and your account.
- To keep Sitecraft secure, fix problems and improve it — our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.
- To keep billing records — UK law requires it.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
If we built a sample draft for your business
Sometimes we build a sample draft for a business from its publicly available information and email the business to offer it. We do this as a business-to-business offer, in our legitimate interest. If you'd rather we didn't contact you, use the unsubscribe link in the email or write to us, and we won't contact you again.
Messages from your website's visitors
When someone sends an enquiry through a site we host for you, we pass it to you by email and keep a copy. For those messages we act on your behalf, and we use them only to deliver them to you and run your site.
If your site has our AI receptionist, visitors' chat messages and the receptionist's replies are stored so you can see what was asked, and any details a visitor leaves (name, phone, email, message) are emailed to you and kept with the conversation. The replies are generated by an AI model from the information you gave us about your business; visitors are told they are talking to an AI receptionist. We use these conversations only to run the receptionist for you and to improve its answers for your business.
Who helps us
We use trusted suppliers, each only for its part of the service:
- Vercel — hosts our website and stores uploaded files.
- Neon — our database.
- Amazon Web Services — builds and hosts the websites we make.
- Postmark — sends our emails.
- Stripe — takes payments.
- Anthropic — the AI that helps write and lay out your site.
- Black Forest Labs — creates images where you don't have a suitable photo.
- Vapi — runs the optional interview.
- Google — reads your public Google Business Profile, where available.
Some of these suppliers handle information outside the UK, including in the United States and South Africa. Where they do, we rely on the protections UK law requires, such as UK adequacy decisions or the UK's approved data transfer agreements.
How long we keep it
- A free draft comes down 14 days after it's ready if you don't choose a plan.
- While you're a customer, we keep what we need to run your site.
- Billing records are kept for six years, as UK law requires.
- Everything else is deleted when we no longer need it. Ask us and we'll delete it sooner where the law allows.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it in certain ways. Email support@sitecraft.studio and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
